June Lunch & Learn

Just a quick reminder that our final professional development lunch & learn of the Tri-State AMP 2010/11 calendar year will be held tomorrow, Tuesday, June 28. Lunch begins at noon at Port Cape Girardeau in downtown Cape. Our guest speaker will be American Advertising Federation District 9 Governor Joe Mastroianni. Joe, whose term as District 9 governor draws to a close at the end of the month, will update us on various AAF issues on the district and national levels and will present the District 9 ADDY “winners reel”. You won’t want to miss seeing some of the best advertising and marketing campaigns from throughout the four-state region of Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska and Iowa.

This is sure to be an informative and entertaining program so please make plans to join us for lunch!

End of the Term Comments

My one-year term as president of Tri-State Advertising & Marketing Professionals comes to an end this week. I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it once again – the year would not have been the success it was without the support and hard work of my fellow Board members as well as many other Tri-State members.

We had quite a few successes during the 2010-11 club year including a 10 percent growth in membership, a successful ADDY competition and awards celebration, the “Art & Copy” show last fall, and the 2011 “Advertising for a Cause” campaign. We also rolled out new branding, a new website and conducted a number of very informative (and delicious) professional development lunches during the year.

My congratulations to the club’s new leadership and to incoming president Emily Sikes; I know that she and the rest of the Board of Directors will do a great job as they work to promote the marketing and advertising professions here in the Tri-State area. I look forward to the coming year and continued growth of Tri-State AMP.

Once again, thanks to everyone for all their hard work and dedication to the “ad club.”

Sincerely,

Jay
