The local American Advertising Awards (AA Awards) competition is the first step in the American Advertising Federation (AAF) annual competition in which 40,000 advertising entries are submitted in hopes of winning a coveted ADDY. On the local level, more than 120 professional and student entries from Tri-State AMP members are judged each year and nearly 40 awards are presented at the annual awards banquet.
Entries are due by 5 pm on Friday, January 16, at Codefi, 339 Broadway St., in Cape Girardeau.
The 2015 Awards Show is Friday, February 20, at Drury Lodge in Cape Girardeau.
Winners of the AA Awards are eligible to compete in the second level of the three-tiered American Advertising Awards Competition, the District 9 Awards conducted in March. The District 9 winners are then eligible for the ultimate competition, the national ADDY, presented in June every year by the American Advertising Federation. As a three-tiered national competition with 40,000 entrants overall, the national American Advertising Awards are the advertising industry’s largest and most representative competition, recognizing creative excellence and the very best advertising worldwide.
